Making WordPress Work for Small Business

WordPress will just work for just about any business and we have a great customer, who is really one of the good guys in the world by the name of Dr. Joe Robaina. Dr Joe is a Grand Cane Master in the art of Cane Self Defense, which is a martial art where the cane is the self defense weapon. Recently we converted Dr. Joe’s site to our WordPress Broadcast theme. It was a major overhaul and I hadn’t checked Joes rankings for a while and got the bug to see how he was doing this morning.

More importantly I was curious about how well Joe was doing in terms of selling canes and DVDS as he has a 6 DVD series he sales for Cane Self Defense and a unique metal cane called “The Robaina Raven”. I mean it’s one thing to get someone a good placement on the page and it’s another thing for him to make money and I was particularly interested about this because we also developed a good amount of the content on the site. Specifically the sales copy for both DVDs and for Canes.

The good news is that Joe is happy and his accountant is happy and of course that make us happy as well.

As a caveat, there’s nothing that can replace the use of a properly, keyword rich title tag and good content which is why I always harp on customers after I do a site to get content up and why I am also very insistent that they research keywords and use the tools we provide them to do their own SEO. In Joe’s case we pretty much did it all from site design, development, keyword research and optimized content, so this video was particularly satisfying.
